I upgraded my streamyx plan from 512kbps to 1mb last friday after seeing the NuffNang ads.
On Monday, Streamyx had done the processing and upgraded my plan "on PAPER" but yet to tag my account to 1mb group. My network connection showed 512kbps still and did a few times of speed test. Suprisingly, the maximum speed i obtained had never been higher than 350kbps. Hence i wrote an email to Streamyx.
The respond time was pretty good as streamyx customer service called me on tuesday to resolve my issue. The guy told me he will transfer the case to a technician and he will call me up. On the same day, the appointed technician called me up and stated that he will fix the issue and tell me to test again. Nevertheless, i did a speed test but result was still suboptimal, on average it hit 500kbps to 600kpbs.
On wednesday, streamyx called me again to find out whether my issue has been resolved not and i was not satisfy with the speed. She said they will try to fix it out.
And now, i just did a speed test, i am getting 750kbps when i shut off all my apps. I wonder what is the acceptable speed for 1mb subscription? Can anyone share with me? I know definitely i cant get the max but ....
Anyway, Streamyx's customer service has improved tremendously with pleasant attitude. I guess stiff competition really helps to push these companies to move forward.
But i hope i can get a better speed than 750kbps, any idea?
