While i was upgrading my blog template, i was playing around with the widgets which i think it will improve users' experience. I am, today, still testing with some widgets, thinking where to place them at.

Among all, 6 of them have been implemented in my blog and they really improve usability, getting good feedbacks, increasing my traffic, as well as technorati authority.

1. Increase backlinks on Technorati
I have made it as a widget to draw viewers to read this particular post. I has increased my technorati authority from 0 to 17 in 10 days. Moreover, i get backlinks from bloggers who joined the campaign.

2. Related posts widget
After reading your post, readers will find related/recommended posts at the bottom of the post by categories/labels. It is a good widget to reduce exit rate.

3. Expandable posts widget
Expandable posts widget makes your blog neat as it displays only the summary of the post. To read more, readers have to click on the "Read More" link and it will redirect to the actual page. It can be used with a combination of widgets to reduce exit rate, at the same time, increase traffic to other posts.

4. Popular posts widget
Readers always want to know what are the popular posts in your blog! After putting up this widget in my blog, i found out through Google analytics site overlay, the clicks on the popular posts have increased significantly. I am using FeedJit at the moment, as it has a new feature to get me traffic through blogosphere. I am still evaluating popular post widget with Post Rank feed which i discovered last week. Before you try FeedJit, you might want to consider it!

5. Social bookmarking widget
Needless to say about the importance of social bookmarking widget. If you have not place any in your blog, you should consider now!

6. Translator
I am 100% sure that if you blog can be translated into multi lingua, it can reach more users especially chinese. They represent almost 1/4 of the world population. I remember Seth said in his blog: write your blog in mandarin!
